I went for a walk tonight and came up with one more it is the other side to the bigger three point side from the other night.

Then on the way home my son spotted this laying in the ditch. It was within 300 yards of one of my deerstands. It is a good find but not how I wanted to get him.

Found a young 4 point side last week, but no pics!
These two were found a minute apart and only 10 feet apart, but they are totally different buck. I couldn't match either of them up.



Then today I found my largest of the year. Not big, but my largest.

P & Y and I walked for about 5 hours today and the only bone found was this little feller. The tree rats found it first though.

I had walked about 22 hours since I found my last shed and found a small 4 pt side with my 19 month old son tonight. We weren't even on the ATV for 3 minutes when we found it. The g2 was broken off.




I also found a dead buck today.

I found the match to the 4 pt side that Austin and I found the day before. It was 50 yds from the edge of my lawn.

MY FIRST SHED OF 2008!!! IM KIND OF LIKE WI BOWHUNTER BECAUSE THIS MORNING I WAS COMPLANING I HAVENT FOUND TO MUCH FOR SHEDS AND THE SAME DAY GO OUT FOR A SHORT WALK AND FIND THIS ONE!!!

Went for a short walk and when I got back in my truck to go I found a small one up on the hill side 25 yards from my truck.





This makes 39 for me

I've been hitting the woods pretty hard so far this week, and have found a few to add to the total.

I started out on Tuesday morning walking a south facing hill side that has held plenty of deer all winter. I was trying to concentrate on walking the trails, but after an hour or so, I kept catching myself eyeing up a grassy clearing near the top of the ridge. On the way up to the clearing I stumbled onto this shed.


It was nothing special but it got my blood flowing, and I continued up the hill to the grassy area. I spent over an hour combing that spot and came up empty. I'm convinced that someone else had been there as I found a couple fresh cigarette butts. I started walking trails again, and it didn't take long to find this one in a spot where the deer have to jump over a log.


Its just a small 3 point side, but it picked my spirits back up, and I continued walking trails. Another hour or so went by, and I was thinking about calling it a day when I crested a small rise and spotted this small 4 point near some pine trees.


I spent another hour looking around that general area and came up with nothing else. That was it for Tuesday, but I was planning to head back to the same hillside the next day. Wednesday was a bust, as I was only able to look for a couple hours, and didn't find anything.

Thursday morning found me back on the same hillside, only I started on the opposite end, where I had not yet been. I'd been walking about an hour and a half before I found my first shed. A pretty descent 5 point side.



I searched high and low for the match to this one and was unable to find it. A while later I thought I spotted a couple tines sticking up on the opposite hillside. I took a slow walk in that direction and sure enough, a pretty nice 4 point side.


All in all it has been a pretty good week for me. I figure I've spent about 14 hours walking so far this week, and have 5 sheds to show for it. I'm heading back out tomorrow to another spot I haven't checked out at all yet this year.
