There is a resaon you have never heard of Jackson county not having big bucks its because they are far and few between. It is home to the fork buck The county is probably 90% sand and jack pines and 9% corn piles and 1% cran berries. I grew up pounding jackson county Most deer are usually spinnly horned do to the lack of nutrition. But its a place to hunt and ther is a ton of land not bad for bowhunting but a lot of pressure gun hunting! I dont hunt it much only gun hunting and late season bowhunting if I get desperate for a doe.
the famous Jackson county Giant killer Shamrocker:stickpo:

Fort Campbell military reservation 15-pointer, which scored 169 7/8 non-typical, with a muzzleloader.
FT Campbell is public by the way as long as you have gun safety and bow hunters education.

This buck was reportedly taken this fall in the Pennyrile Forest State Park in Kentucky.
Dan U. Miller harvested this tremendous non-typical in Christian County, Kentucky in fall of 2006. The final score of this outstanding trophy is 246-3/8, and was accepted into B&C's 27th Awards Program on May 11, 2007. The buck has a 205-5/8 net typical frame.
I have personally hunted that land and there is some HUGH bucks on it. Just be ready for a long walk up some steep hills!!!

My nephews first deer ever, and with a bow! Taken on video with his cousin while sitting on the ground. The video can be seen on the Real Hunting Iowa Giants DVD for 2007.

Thats the kinda rack that gets me cranked.. I just got back from IA, hunted 2 1/2 days saw lotsa deer but I was out to break the 150 barrier and I never saw one that would make the cut beyond a shadow of doubt.
Congrats to the nephew..kickers, stickers and freaky stuff make for cool racks.
IDH, congrats to your nephew, but not on his choice of headwear. "Missagain" sucks, as does the rest of the Little Ten other than THE Ohio State. That is an awesome buck, however. Please extend my congratulations to him. One heck of a first buck, not to mention with a bow. That's fantastic.
