    Default Venison Tacos

Anybody ever make tacos with venison? I have been thinking about it but I wanted to check with the experts.

I would imagine you could if you just put the taco seasoning in the venison hambuger. We eat it with chili all the time, I don't think it would be that much different.

Deer tacos are awesome!! My wife fixes them for us all the time!! My deer has very little beef mix in the packs of burger. she just uses the taco bell seasoning and it a winner

pure venison burger is so lean it cooks very dry unless you use it with sauces like chili, spaghetti...etc.. you may want to add some liquid seasoning in the tacos to keep them from being too dry

For burgers I use a 50-50 mix with beef. For tacos I just simmer 100% venison with taco seasoning and it stays pretty moist.

When I first meet my soon to be wife (AUG 1st). I made her venison tacos one night and she asked "what type of seasoning do you use?" I thought for sure that she didn't like them so I replied "why do you ask" Her response which made me think that this could be the one " these are the best tasting tacos that I have ever had ". Since that day We have only consumed wild game. She has learned a thousand different ways to cook various type's of game to the point that she is writing a cookbook. i will let you all know when she is completed and were you can go to get it. She doesn't want the price to be any higher then 10-15 bucks.

Yep I've made venison taco's. I use 100% ground venison burger & yes it's less greasy/drier but with the taco season & the fixen's (mositure from veggie's & taco sauce or salsa) you'll be just fine, good eating!
Then again who really like's greasy taco meat ? I don't.
I don't like to mix my venison burger with pork or beef, I save the mixing for the summer sausage & jerky sticks.

They came out great! I managed not to tell my wife until she ate one, which could have turned out bad for me, but luckily it didn't. I was thinking next time I might throw a smaller roast in the crockpot with some seasoning and then shred the meat. Kind of a shredded beef type taco.

    Thanks for all the tips!
