    Question

I am still trying to figure out my new bow, but I know a few guys that do and they say there is nothing like it.

I am thinking about it. I am debating on old muzzle (round Ball) or traditional bow

  5. Default good old long bow

I don't hunt deer with a long bow but I love shooting carp with one! In the off season I keep my skills up with my kodiak. There has been a few times when sights have not been an option and I've made the shot due to the carp killing that I've done.

Yes I have had a beautiful takedown recurve that a guy built for me 6 years ago. I killed a doe with it the first year. I should go hunting with it again. I drag it out now and then and shoot it. Last year I even bought cedar arrows shafts and fletched them up and put my own nocks on them. I can get real good at 20 yds after about 15 minutes of warming up. When I try to get further shots it goes all to heck. I have been told it is like throwing a baseball; just do it. I took it out today and was actually pretty good for not shooting it since last summer. A lot of fun. I just bought a new Hoyt Trykon and it gets all of my archery attention.

    Default recurve

My recurve is all I hunt with anymore. I love giving my hunting partners a hard time about their laser guided sites and gear and pully system machines. I do like the comment about training wheels.

Love my old Damon Howatt 52# recurve, and of course cedar shaft arrows are my favorite (and only.)

I guess I used a shot gun for pheasants this fall. I don't think I would make the switch to bow for that.

    Default traditional shooter :)

    Hello to all!!!
I'm new to this site and just wanted to pass a Happy New Year to all and to say yep I'm a traditional shooter as well as a compound shooter.

Mostly now it seems that I grab my longbow when I go out to shoot,, even birds knelson! it gives them a way better chance and leaves alot for seed for next year!! haha

Here's a pic of some of my arrows and a ash selbow I made

    Default Traditional Shooter.

New to the site. Strictly a stick and string shooter. Sold my Compound a year and a half ago. Shoot primarily Dwyer Longbows, but have a Rivers Edge Arroyo and a Rose Oak Custom Puma Hunter recurve that I like to shoot as well. Also am in the process of finishing up a Bamboo backed Osage longbow and hope to design and build my own reflex/deflex longbow in the near future.

Traditional bow hunter here. I shoot a Wind Walker Take Down Recurve. Been hunting with this recurve for 13 years now. Before that I shot compound for about 10 years or so.
