I've not heard of this, but I would recommend a good cut-on-contact broadhead for a recurve/longbow. I shot two-blade Zwickeys for years, and they are dynamite. Very strong, easy to sharpen and awesome penetrators (plus they're relatively cheap!). Only time I didn't get complete pass-through was when I hit a buck and the broadhead lodged in the opposite shoulder. Poor guy still only made 60 yards before tipping over .

yea i just bought some two blade zwickeys. i was using 100 gr steelforce titanium hellfire. couldnt get em to penetrate. but being new to traditional archery last year(still am) i only got a 45# bow, and am regreting it now. i have also heard that 125 gr is the better or best grain for hunting with a recurve or longbow. any truth to that?

Being your new to Traditional bows the best thing you did was get a light draw weight bow for your 1st. Get your muscles and form working good and then In a year or so you can up your weight and get a different bow.

Being your pulling 45lbs a 2 blade BH Is your best way to go. Zwickey's and Magnus make great 2 blade heads. Them Steel Force BH's tend to break off on the tip.

As for the grains, 125 grain Is the ticket for your set up. Don't go no lighter. I'm pulling 73lbs back with my recurve and I'm shooting 125 grain heads. I could easily shoot 170 grain heads or heavier. The more pack to the punch, the better. In saying this though you have to have the right arrow set up to do this.

You should be good with that set up. No kills yet for me, only been out once so far this year.
