    Default Walleye thru ice

I have been fishing this stretch of river i fished friday night since i was knee high, and i have never caught a walleye there. I had caught many pike and gills and a few perch but never a walleye. I had heard a few people were catching some on the main channel of this windy multi channeled river so i thought id give it a go on friday night. While this was the only fish caught that night and not a monster fish im proud of it, because i have fished it for many years and i LOVE pulling walters thru the ice! I was stoked!
Fire up the grill cuz bowhuntin isn't catch and release!

Ohhhhhhhh so thats what they look like!!! Man I've went all winter already without a single walter! But I'll be out at it again this week making another attempt.
Has this winter been slower for you than in the past? This year (alot like deer hunting) has been horrible at best.

    Nice walleye by the way

Yeah it had been alot slower by us, but to be fair the dropped the river by us 6 or 7 feet to work on the dam over the summer. And this river has many side channels and slues that the fish loved to hang in and we had a pretty big die off when they dropped the water. But at any rate ive got a few pike and this walter and thats about it. I havnt even tried pan fishing yet. Few of my buddies have been out several times and havnt got much of anything.
