    Default MN fishing license

Have any MN residents noticed that they are trying to increase the price of a resident fishing license. No mention of raising non-resident fees and i just google it and MN nonresident fee is $39.50 and WI is $50.00. Is anyone else tired of stuff like this. Why cant MN try to take better care of the people who pay the taxes and stick those costs to non residents like all the other states around here. Its not just fishing either.

The way I look at is when I buy my license I am investing in the program that oversees fisheries. While I do not always agree with the programs and policies I still support the program. It's not as bad as an increase in fees for tabs for my car.

I agree to that completly. I know the money goes to a good cause i just wish they would absorb more of that cost to non residents like i have to pay i go out of state.

I don't mind paying a few extra bucks for a license, but I agree they could raise the non-resident license some. Western states have big game, some other midwest states have whitetails, turkeys, and pheasants as resources that create revenue from non-residents. Minnesota has some pretty darn good fishing that could create some more revenue. Colorado raised its elk tags around $100 this year. I don't think an increase of $10 for non-resident fishing license would be out of line. South Dakota charges $110 for a small game license which is very reasonable. Heck they could raise it to $150 and I would still buy a license. I guess my point is that the license is a minor expense compared to all the other things we spend our money on to hunt and fish.
