Default Ice is Out, start of the 2010 walleye run

Well went fishing this evening. Walters don't seem to be running much yet. But i did manage to hook into this one. Nice chunky fish. But i was the only one to hook into one down there today after 4 hrs of fishing. But non the less its early.

Well tonight was a good night. I think with the cold weather coming they were active. I caught 2, my buddy caught 1 and my wife decided to show me how its really done and caught 5. To bad the limit is only one a person right now or my freezer wld start filling up. Alot of fun though

yeah, i went out this evening, and no dice. with the colder weather here it sure has slowed things down. not many being caught and when they are its all smaller males. But they keep saying its going to warm up. hopefully it does and that will get them going again

lol yes mine also. Last fish fry i had i had 6 people to feed. so i took 6 fish out of the freezer. When i fillet my walleyes i peel the lateral line out so its actually like 4 fillets per fish. on the bigger fish the portion of meat near the back bone is rather thick so i cut it into 4 to 5 inch chunks and butterfly then. What a difference in taste! so much better. But anyways with the 6 fish i had 3 heaping plates of fish when i was done butterflying and frying. Def was the best fish fry ive ever had.
