Dick and Mike Ray, owners of Lobo Outfitters, are, in my opinion, are one of the the best outfitters in Colorado and New Mexico. I booked hunts and guided for them for several years. My clients were always extremely pleased with their hunts. They took several 6x6 elk with Dick & Mike.
If I was going on a hunt, where I wanted an almost sure-fire 6x6 elk, trophy mule deer, or mountain lion, there would be no questions asked, I would go with Lobo Outfitters. They are experienced, knowledgeable, hard working and friendly people, who "get the job done" for their clients. Simply the best there is."
I would not hesitate to send anyone to Lobo Outfitters. I fact, I sent Trebark Camouflage designer Jim Crumley out to hunt with Dick.
Incidentally, it was after a hunt (on which I was guiding) with Dick, when he mentioned he really needed a camouflage for hunting the western states, in pines and spruce. One year later I came out with Konifer TM Camouflage in the Cabela's TM catalog. It was the first non bark - non leaf camouflage on the market, thanks to Dick's suggestion.
It was my guiding experience with Dick that led to my 3-year research project on the biology and behavior of elk, and his elk hunting techniques - which resulted in my book Elk Addict's Manual.
