    Default Fall Turkey Hunters..

What is turkey hunting like in the fall? Is it pretty much the same as the spring, or a lot different..Ive never really thought about fall turkey hunting much before until now, so any info you can give me will help!

If you can find the roost site and set up some deks and call some its almost like spring x the gobblin. But the midday flock bust is GREAT FUN!! Run like hell into a flock of turkeys then set up wait around a half hour and start callin. If they didnt go far with your bust they come runnin in

Do they respond to calls and dekes in the fall like they do in the spring?

Also, I have heard others talk about the flock bust strategy..couple questions..I have one or two flocks on my family's hunting land, so do I just wander around looking for them until I stumble upon the flock? Do I call and just keep making my way towards them? Whats the strategy for this?

I've heard they don't really respond to calls that well in the fall. I guess the two methods that work the best are flock bustin and try to pattern and hunt them like deer. I didn't get a turkey this spring, so I hope to give them a try this fall.

How do you go about finding the flocks? And when you do bust up a flock and set up there, do you set out a lone decoy or something?

I think turkeys are fairly visible in the fall. Same field same time same entry exit type of thing. I am no expert on this I'm just going by what I've seen read and heard. I think I have heard of guys using a decoy in the fall. It would make sense if you break up the flock it will give the other turkeys something to see when they come back and try to regroup. The only problem is that this usually a flock of hens and young turkeys. Not sure if I could shoot a hen I don't know if a group of toms would act the same way. Hopefully I get drawn this fall and I learn some more.

Turkeys in the fall are a lot more social then in the spring.I like usin deks just for somthin for them to focus on rather than me.Some good long yelps and kee kees work well. Not sure how turkeys group up in other states but in Mi toms and hens tend to run together around here.

I cant wait now. Im going to try calling out of the deer stand. Will that scare the deer away?
