Thread: Moultrie D55

  1. Default Moultrie D55

Well i got this camera last week tuesday and put it out. Pulled the cards sunday. Nothing great on camera, but the pics seem good for a $100 camera. Time will tell with battery life and such.

I persuaded my dad into getting one. You can check my album in signature for some night pics. They can be a bit blurry at times but that seems to be more normal with IR. I do like the day photos. Not bad for $100. He got D55IR his on sale!

I really like the white flash cams for pics though. I have seen some night pics from them and they looked good.

thanks briggd...the night time pics look pretty good, they look like they compare real close to the i40's

Yeah as long as the battery life is anywhere close to the i40 i dnt see how u can go wrong with this cam. I know the night pics arnt photo album quality but thats not what i even really need. I just want to see what i got around without having to pay big money on the cam or batteries over the year. I think this cam works well for the price. And i do like the location of the sd card compared to the i40 as well

I dont think the battery life is going to be near what the I40 is..The I40 is infrared, which takes much less battery power than incandescent flash. I would assume the battery life is going to be closer to the old D40s..

Is the trigger speed faster than the I40?? We have an I40 and it is horrible the only good place for it is on a mineral lick where a deer is going to stand in front of it for awhile.
I am looking for my best camera for the lowest money but fast trigger speed is probably the most important feature for me!
Is it November 2012 yet?? 2011 sucked arse for me!!

The trigger speed is faster than the I40. But the I40 has a little bit better battery life. I have both. Here is another pic i pulled from my card today.

ya sounds like a good cam but i think its so stupid to build cameras that run of Cs because a D is twice the size and they cost the same
