Dove season...woot!
Welp, I might be getting ahead of myself but I hope to post some picture early next week from tomorrows dove hunt. It just so happens that tomorrow is also the opener for early urban antlerless bow season inside city limits for me...but im opting to kill peaceful little doves instead.
Cant wait to knock em out of the sky!

Im both reluctant and embarrassed to post the picture above for multiple reasons. I think I jinxed the hunt by starting a thread with the bright idea that id be posting a picture with a big pile of feathers with a limit of birds. Thats certainly not the case... I missed a bunch of easy shots but still killed 7 of which I only found 4. I cant believe some of the shots I missed...I used to be better than that Tom Knapp feller but I guess ive gotten a little rusty.
...but not to make up excuses, the birds werent flying like the dude said they would. He said we'd get our limit in no time...wrong! It was kinda windy from the remnants of Hurricane Earl and the doves were dipping and diving all erratic. Tall weeds, hot sun...I hate dove hunting. But im going again next week cus I keep replaying in my head some of the shots I missed and well, I need to erase them with some great shots...then im going to throw the dead doves at trees or punt em.
