What do you all wear in the tree for bow hunting?
When I first started bowhunting, I wore a mask, but it got annoying, so I quit wearing it. I started painting my face then, but sometimes found it inconvenient so I just didnt do it all the time, so Id just go with nothing...
Now its about half and half..I either go with nothing or I put a few stripes of paint on..

I always camo my face. It's amazing how a white face stands out. You don't have to completely do every inch, but break it up, nose, ears, and lines over the face. Makes a big difference.

I wear a mask but make sure it is pulled down for a shot as I can't shoot with it on.
Is it November 2012 yet?? 2011 sucked arse for me!!
No mask here. I think if a deer looks up at me in a tree it is going to know that something is not right regardless of wether or not I have a mask on.
My experience is that if you don't do something to break up your face you might as well be waving a white flag. I've noticed a HUGE difference in how deer react to me in a tree before and after the use of face camo. Just my experience.

I always wear mesh or a balaclava face mask. In my experience as soon as they see your face and make eye contact games over.
i wear a facemask it is a scent blocker one.
I use a full headnet type mask. It helps keep the skeeters off and im kind of a bright neon white...so anything to dim the glowing rays emitted by my face.

Only time I wear one is when it is needed for warmth.
I wear face mask or at least a bandana around my neck/face and make sure to pull it up when deer are approaching. It makes a definite difference when deer look at you, and from a distance if you face/ hands are not covered, you might as well be waving signal flags. During the rut, when things cool off (no bugs) I paint my face for all day sits instead of using a head net or facemask because I can hear much much better without anything over or on my head/face. With face paint on, you can look right at a deer (squinting of course) and they can't make you out, and it adds to the confidence factor when on stand. I do like the ultra thin neck gators that you can pull up on your face... not too hot and stay in place well.

i use the ultra-thin neck gator as MOTR mentioned. really hand and easy to slide up into position. if i'm hunting a stand that may not have the greates cover around me, i'll go ahead and leave it on the whole hunt, but if i'm on stand somewhere where i've got good cover in the stand, i'll leave it down and slide it up before i reach for my bow.

I usually use a face mask, but sometimes I have used face paint or some mud found along the way to the stand if I forgotten my mask.
Face masks can be kind of annoying but they keep off the skeeters and keep you warm
With bugs out it is a mask, and i shoot with it on
With out bugs i will use some paint but not sure how good i am at the paint job
worried about scaring the deer with a bad job![]()
