Not sure who put this video out and don't mean to ruffle any feathers but if that 8 pointer in the latest video is a 170" buck man I better get my big 8 scored cause he has to go over 200" then.

I saw that as well. No doubt a great deer but it wasn't much over 140".

Skeptics!!!! I killed this deer early this season and he scores over 170 gross as a ten this year. He lost some tine length on his G2's but added two points and will score close to the same as last year..... where he would have been in the high 160's. Also, when something is said on video it is because it is happening at the time while later there is plenty of time to review the footage. We do it as it happens that is why everyone loves our show.

I just watched the footage again (8:30 on home page video) and I just don't see it. I looked at some officially scored 8 pointers that go 170" gross and those deer make your jaw drop. There have only been 34 bucks entered into B&C that have cleared 170" as 8 pointers since 1830. That's a pretty exclusive group. Damn nice deer but I just don't see it as being a 170" 8 pointer. I could be wrong though...

I personally have a official gross 177 3/8 eight from the same area and will let you know when this animal is officially scored. This animal has 6 in of stickers at the bases plus over 26 in main beams. I rarely score our big bucks, but will with this one just to prove the point. As no one seems to know how to read I stated that initially on film and in the heat of the action I said 170 and everyone goes nuts. After reviewing the footage he was closer to 160 last year and could have easily edited what I said out of the video but I figured hunters knew enough to know why it was said.... apparently not......

I think you're missing the point that the individual that started this thread was trying to make. That point was that the deer didn't look like a 170" 8 pointer. You have somewhat validated that point by backing down from 170" originally, to "high 160's" a few weeks ago, to "around 160" today. Scoring the buck this year does very little to validate the score of the buck last year.

Another point I would like to make is that I VERY MUCH enjoy your videos and think you guys do a great job. I just didn't think that deer looked anywhere close to the size that you guessed it at. Unlike you at the time, I had the benefit of looking at it on a screen with a pause bottom. Like I said, I could be wrong.
