Not for another month or two. I think you'll be pissing in the wind if you start looking this early.

I think it depends on where you are at and the amount of stress on the deer, I started finding them on new years day last year and the best one I found was on the sixth of january (69" five point side with split G2)

The winter we are having now is very similar to the one we had last year at this time. Last year i found 7 sheds on the 14th of January, but yes, it does depend on how stressed the deer are in the area your looking for sheds. I will probably take my first walk sometime in mid-January again just to see if i can get lucky.

the winter is simular to last year except for the fact that there is nowhere near the food out there this year as there was last year

Exactly. Early harvest with a fall plow and this much snow= detrimental winter for all animals/birds.

spot on turkeytracker I think this is going to be a very hard winter for all the wildlife, now we have this rain and freezing drizzle coming, what little food they could dig to is now going to be impossible to get too

Farmers that plow in the fall = pisses deer and shed hunters off.

Took a walk through a picked corn feild this week that the deer are completely hammering..nothing..You couldn't find a shed in there if your drum set depended on it.....

i have made it out half dozen times or so know and have found thirteen, one mid 140s set, one mid 120s set, a small one hundred inch set, and seven singles, i have seen a ton of deer and not to many of them still have horns on, it is more than time to get out there and start looking
