    Default Turkey Chokes..

Anyone have an experience with any shotgun chokes for turkeys? I want to get one for my step-dad to use this spring, but I dont want to spend alot of money, and Im just curious which to go with..Im down to three choices..

    1) The HS Strut Undertaker...$20, .675 constriction, and it gets a 4.3/5 rating on cabelas website..

    2) The Primos Tight-Wad..$25, .660 constriction, and gets a 4.6 rating on cabelas..

    3) TruGlo Gobble-Stopper..$20, .665 constriction, and gets a 4.5 rating on cabelas..For another 5 bucks, it comes with a snap-on fiber optic sight, which might not be too bad of an idea either..

Does anyone here have any experience with any of these chokes, and can help me decide between them?

I have heard good things about the Undertaker. No experience with the others...

I shoot a M.A.D. Max in my 870...an absolute killer with Federal loads.

I use the tight wad out of my 870 mag with some 5's and man does it knock em' down. My ol man doesnt like any turkey choke. He likes just the full stock choke but he patterns the best with his 2 3/4 with 6 at 35yds. and believe me my ol man can just flat out put them down. Like he said just get them in close and you can shoot them with a 20gauge.

Yeah I'm in need of one too know before turkey season gets here and just looking for something lower in price to use. Got a Kicks from my last gun but won't work in my new gun.
Probably going to get one of those three also.

Got a TightWad today along with some Winchester Supreme 3" #6 (after hearing from others that its a deadly combo out of the 870). I will be shooting it this weekend to see how it is, and I will report back after I test it out!

I have 3 new in box "undertakers" for sale. Being a consistent member on the site I'll sell them for $12 each plus $3 shipping. If you don't want them the offer is good for any other member on the site. Just send me a PM.

I've got an 870 supermag w/ an undertaker choke. Shooting Winchester HV #5's, I've got excellent patterns at 40yds (farthest I've patterned at) but have killed birds out to 60yds w/ this combination. I realize you have already made your purchase, but thought I would share my .02 anyway.

    Good luck this spring

Got out and shot a few different shells with the new choke this past weekend.. Shooting at a 9" paper plate. I wish I wouldve had a larger target so I couldve got a better idea than just what is hitting the 9" circle, but it worked.

First, per someone else's suggestion, I tried some winchester 3" #6, and from 30 yards, and with 2 shots, I put 100 bb's and 120 bb's in the plate.

Then I moved back to 40 yards and only ended up with 50 in the plate.

Then I tried some remington 3 1/2" nitro #5 loads we had around from past years, and put 166 BBs in the plate from 30 yards, which means I think these shells are the way to go with this choke.

I would like to try the winchester supremes in a 3 1/2" #5, but at like $18 a box, the remingtons we have already will work good enough..

give them 3 1/2 federal premiums a try. I shot my turkey last year at 40 yards and found the wad laying right next to my turkey, but also im shooting a mossberg with the xx choke and number 6 shot

I ended up with a Primos Jellyhead choke in my Supernova for this spring( can't remember the size off the top of my head, .665 I think) shooting Winchester 3 1/2 #5s.
It was 3 for 3 on turkeys this season at 20, 30, and 40 yards.
