    Default IA shed trip

Thanks Steve for having my son and I down for a weekend! We didn't do as well this year as last year, but still had a blast. Put on some miles and my son was a trooper.

My son with his first shed EVER found.

His first set EVER found. I saw a shed and yelled over to my son..."Walk between those two trees". Low and behold, there were 2 there. He told me the whole way home, "Dad...you have never found a set, but I have!" (with a giggle)

Here's the keep for the weekend. 2 sets, 1 broken tine, 1 broken main beam and 4 singles.

Steve was able to match up 2 others years of sheds to the set he found.

The big one for the weekend and Steve also had last years single of this buck. I measured 63", but I'm going to have it double checked.

We came to the end of a walk and talked about what we wanted to do next. Steve just looked down and happened to see a broken off tine. What are the odds? So after a couple high fives, I walked about 5-10 feet while we were still talking...looked down and saw a broken off main beam. Again....what are the odds? A little while later, Steve tells me about a shed that he found about 400-500 yards away from these 2 that had a broken main beam. Sure enough when we got back to his house, they matched up with that shed!! Guess we should have quit and went out to buy a lottery ticket right then and there! ha, ha

    Pedicles from Steve's set.

It was a great time! And a lot of fun! I would have to say that Nick was a heck of a trooper! Even though he got a few rides on dads shoulders but pressed on even after getting sore spots on his feet!

Wish we would of found some of the big ones in the area, and the honey holes produced like they did last year. But winter wasnt as hard as last year either and a lot more crop ground in the area.

The set that has the quarters on it was found out of luck, just screwing around on the 4wheeler and they were laying in the middle of a bean field.....8 hrs of walking and 1 broken tine found and a main beam, 5 minutes on the wheeler and a matched set....priceless!

Thanks too stump and nick for making the treck down!

P.S. Im just saying I think my 6 pt side was bigger
