have any of you guys been out shed hunting much lately, just wondering if any of you guys think that alot of the sheds were dropped early and possibly still under the snow?

I think that is the case on my two properties, i had two bucks lose their horns on new years eve. I found both of those on new years day. When we had those few days in febuary when it got really warm i found another two in areas that were melted where i had walked over 3 times before when there was snow.
I found 1 on 3/4/11, two on 3/6/11 and a match set on 3/7/11. All but one were just two inch points sticking out of the snow.
I think there are LOTS of antlers under the snow, or hidden by some snow, however you wanna look at it.

I walked through a standing cornfield that was FULL of deer tracks and droppings, and I know I was the only human to have walked it as not many others were dumb enough to treck through that deep snow. I'm betting antlers are still a few inches or more down in the snow.
This next week temps will be upper 40's, and even mid 50's next weekend with rain. I'm betting next week will be a killer time to shed hunt!

I usually have a box full of sheds at this time of the year, and I'm really having a hard time finding sheds this year. Snow Snow Snow.....they have to be under the snow, where I'm from this is the most snow we've had at this time of the year in 10 plus years. Keep looking guys it's only going to get better. I think?
I,ve had limited success shed hunting thus so far. Like others have stated, this week should be a good melter.Hopefully some of the antlers will be uncovered.
