Thumbs up Turkeys really blowing up!

The time is near!! Man.. birds out strutting all over the place this morning. I have seen several flocks out in the morning with multiple strutters in the group with scattered hens. The guys with Season A ought to be in the birds! Good Luck. We have Season D and I may simply have a nervous breakdown between now and then with all the bird activity in my area.

I was helping a friend of mine move today and saw 2 flocks of at least 15 birds. One flock had 5 toms strutting out in a hay field! It was awesome. The other flock was just as big with 2 toms strutting. The second flock was on land that we have access to. Needless to say, I am excited to get out. My season starts April 18th.

    We HAVEN't HEARD a THING ! right?

In fact, all I hear about is how great the hunting is around the metro areas and over in WI...

My hunting buddy told me he saw a huge flock where we are going to be hunting starting this coming Monday. In the flock there were 13 birds STRUTTING! I have never seen that many birds strutting at one time but he is not the kind of guy to make up stories. I wish he could have gotten a picture.

    That's some cool video!

It also confirms something I've suspected...Flocks are still breaking up from winter. You won't see big groups like this in a couple weeks.

I've been calling for a couple friends first period. I think guys with later-season tags are gonna be happy this year. The cold weather and wind has slowed bird activity down, at least in my area.

    I start tomorrow. Can't wait!
