    Default weekend project...

Some buddies and I tried our hand at a couple of food plots and watering holes this past weekend. This is our first attempt with the plots so I am hopeful that they turn out. One is a mix of ryegrass, fescue, rapeseed, and clover. The other is turnips and rapeseed. They are small plots (1/8-1/4 acre) on logging roads in the timber so the pictures aren't that great. We put the watering holes close to the plots. The purlpe octopus pools were impossible to pass up!

A big thanks to Swens for his advice and pointing us in the right direction. Hopefully we can follow this up with some big bucks on the ground this fall as a result of the hard work.

    Looks great...

Purple octopus is definitely the way to go....Pink or green are just not attractive to deer at all!
