Well that's a catchy quote, but Adrian Rogers was a Baptist minister, not an economic/political expert. With all due respect, I am not impressed....

If one eliminated the name of the author and simply studied the quote provided, it's spot on. IMHO socialism is what it explains and socialism(in the US) will not work. Distribution of wealth running ramped. The top 50% earners pay 96+% of the taxes in the country(depending on what stats one views). Top 25%, 85+%. Something is wrong here. That is unless I'm viewing the statistics completely backwards and if that's the case, let me know!

No need to apologize, bud! It is the speaker I am not impressed with. You are a TMH'er and therefore a fellow good guy!

I just view this whole debate about the economy, politics, taxes, etc. with a lot of interest and wonder. Most of the strong philosophical statements about what is right/wrong come BOTH extremes...The left and the right. I try not to be swayed by either of them.

You can't just cut taxes and spend less money and everything will be ok. There has to be some sort of logic behind it and the republicans don't have that!
Is it November 2012 yet?? 2011 sucked arse for me!!

I'm no eco-101 scholar here, but I think the logic is cut taxes and people have more money to put into the economy, offer cuts to corporations and business owners who employ (and pay) people, and people have more money to put into the economy. Cut spending to programs that enable the worthless, and you have more money supporting the economy.

Give me a logical explanation of how rasing taxes to increase revenue just to spend more money on free handouts is going to help us get out of the whole we are in.

Personally I feel America would be a lot better place if all the kool aid drinking, hippie talking, jokers would renounce citizenship and go somewhere else where they don't have to complain about how the gov doesn't tax enough... then again it wouldn't be America without em....ughhh.....

Typically it's the people that don't pay any taxes at all (nearly half of the people in our country)that are screaming for more taxation of the "rich". The Democrats in office beat the same drum because they get all of their votes from these hitch hikers looking for a free ride.

The more "on the dole" you are, the more government you want.

I heard a statement a while back and I have no idea how to verify it, but..... It was said that the vast majority of those on the lower end of the income bracket rarely vote(IE...those who either don't pay any taxes or very little). And if they did, we'd all be in major trouble.

I'd say they came out and voted this last presidential election. It shows.

I agree with your first statement. I never said we need to raise taxes like your second statement. Your third statement you forgot to include the all the illegal Beaners needing to be removed from our country if it continues at the rate it is right now the USA is not going to exist in 5 years it is just going to be one big Mexico

Well how dare those people have more money than them...The rich can certainly afford to give those people some of their money! (heavy sarcasm)

    Welcome to the USSA..

What are you saying? Im really confused what your position on this whole thing is..You seem to think that both sides are wrong, so I would like to hear what you think the solution should be..
