I went out today and took a few photos of what ginseng is looking like right now. These pics were on a west facing slope. These pics will show that you should be looking for more than just a green plant with red berries.
Normal looking plant for this time of year:
Large plant that is missing some leaves....this could be from a variety of things. A deer could have eaten the leaves or they just could have fallen off naturally:
Just starting to turn yellow:
Huge 20 leaf plant turning yellow and still has berries:
