I guess some people complained about the submitted scores for our team? Myself and a couple others, so I sent stump my score sheet, but could care less if people are scrutinizing estimated scores, they should go get in the woods or learn how to hunt deer. I hope the people complaining read my post! I didn't submit the best picture of my buck, but i was unaware they were tryouts for pictures of the year! Not a big deal, I'm probably just tired from sitting in the tree 12 hours day! Good luck the hunting is going to get really good shortly!my buck 11.jpg

I got called on it as well and rightfully so. I made a math error; will freely admit it. My apologies to my team, my apologies to this forum. I'm embarrassed by my error. Hopefully I can make up for it with my landowner tag. If I fill it, I'll post the sheet and let others who are more math inclined add up the score.

    Untouchable and Eddy,

I'm honest when I say that it's not a big deal at all. Absolutely no need to apologize, be embarrassed or otherwise. Atleast you guys have bucks to score. Haha

Pictures can be deceiving. Depending on how you hold the camera you can make a buck look really big or really small. Either way that's a damn nice deer you shot. Congrats to you!

Well, I filled my LOT yesterday afternoon, but no reason to post the score on this one. I'm obviously not a serious trophy hunter. I take into consideration how the hunt went as well as whether I like the rack. This guy got unlucky.

Being restricted to hunting my farm really limits my chances, as it's an ag farm first, with one brushy draw and a forked brushy creek bottom. If I spend enough time sitting, I should usually have a shot opportunity, but I have learned that waiting for one target buck can cause countless hours in stand and unfilled tags.

So we had a fairly strong south wind yesterday, I thought I would stand next to a tree in our N/S creek bottom, as the neighbor across the road to the south has CRP. Thought maybe the deer were bedded in there and would come across the road to eat waste grain in our corn field as the sun set. At 4:45 pm I saw a buck cross the road into our corn, trot straight east until he hit the creek bottom, then turned north. He went by me at 7 yards broad side, I double lunged him and he piled up after maybe 75 yards.

    Ground and pound:

great bucks guys! I really think the best hunting is still coming. What an unusual year for bowhunting? The rut seems to be late and the movement during the day is just starting to kick in. My farm in MN is without a buck being shot so far and there are some giants there. Keep pounding those great bucks!

Yeah, I agree. It doesn't seem like the rut has even started here. I'm still seeing does with fawns, and small bucks running together. A couple of other signs that it hasn't possibly started is I haven't seen a dead deer on the shoulder around here in weeks. Usually you see tons of them hit when it gets hot. Also, maybe its been the full moon, but where I've been sitting, the deer are not moving until almost dark. Nice bucks everyone.
We will need to pound some does to keep our numbers up.

Definately an odd year! Saw bucks in MN locked down with does in the middle of corn fields on 11-1 and then again yesterday! Very strange year. My obsevations are similar to yours. KS was also not going much at all when we left onm 11-11....way behind or way early? Wierd!

Guys, great job this season. Looks like we might win pretty handily. Also, I believe we get to be a team again next season and defend our title.
Also, nice job on he late season buck and doe Ridgerunner.

Thanks Chaun! I actually shot the buck back in late October but was hoping to be able to upgrade it. Things just didn't work out. Went out for one last hunt on December 30th and ended up shooting the doe.

    Thumbs up Great job guys!!

Great deer guys!! Way to go. I wish I could have contributed a little more, but my doe is all that I have to offer! Maybe a coyote this weekend but I don't know if we would get points for that!!! Not even sure if we need them.
