Default Team #5 "The Midwest Whitetail Assassins"

Hey guys just starting a thread here so we all can check in. I think it would be cool to know where everyone hunts at, so lets hear a little about yourself. We also need to think of a name, so if you all have any ideas feel free to post them and we can decide from there.

As for me, I am 26 and with a recent job change I will only be able to hunt on the weekends and the occasional weekday night (I used to have Friday-Sunday off). I hunt south of Sparta, WI in a little town called Leon. I also try to find time to get together with friends for the the occasional bow drive or sit in the marsh/islands on the Mississippi River.

Checking in here. I'm from Red Wing, MN and hunt the Goodhue, MN area. I also have just started a new job which will limit my hunting to primarily weekends but I have a nice buck patterned that I hope to put my tag on opening weekend. He isn't the biggest buck on our hunting land but he is so visible right now and would be hard to pass up when I know my hunting is going to be semi-limited this year.

Team name suggestion I liked my team name from last year which was "The Empty Quiver Gang"
Is it November 2012 yet?? 2011 sucked arse for me!!

    Default Checking in

I hunt around the Arcadia, WI area. Mostly a weekend hunter, with some weekday hunts depending on how busy work is.

Team name doesn't matter much to me.

We should give the other guys a chance to agree on the name and have everybody checked in and if everybody agrees let stump know.
Jeg needs to check in soon or we will need to try and PM him.

Hello, sorry I'm late. Here's my bio I'm 42, live north of Lanesboro work rotating shifts so hunt as much as Family/conditions permit schedule is kind of all over the place. Have the last week of Oct. and first two weeks of Nov. off. Dont have anything specific lined up but know of a few decent ones around. Most my stands are ready just need to touch up about 6 more and will be ready . Noticed allot of acorns this year and they are starting to drop so I expect the deer will be less visible real soon in the evenings. Midwest whitetail assasins sounds good. Good luck to everyone!!

I am taking my son out hunting with me opening night. He turns 6 on Sunday. I don't shoot to many does because of lack of them around me but first one that comes by Saturday night is getting a muzzy sent her way.

I too am shooting the first matur doe that comes by me. I am going to hunt my home farm in the morning and hopefully hunt the mississippi river bottoms with Sticks and a group of our friends!

Default Several of my targets for this year

MDGC0037 (4).jpgMDGC0036.jpgHere are a couple of my bucks I am targeting this year. 2 of the 8 pointers I'm not sure if I will pull the trigger on until I see them in person.MDGC0035 (2).jpgMDGC0142.jpgMDGC0632.jpg The wide scraggly buck is 5 1/2 years old he was a basic 6 pointer at 1.5, 2.5, and 3.5 years old then last year when he was 4 1/2 he disappeared no sightings and no pictures. Now he is back and has grown some extra trash so he is a legal buck to take now. This ultimately is my target buck for the year just cause I want him out of the herd.

Is anyone on my team still alive?? How is everyone doing? I've been out twice with minimal deer sightings and no shots offered.
