Thread: 2011 Live from the Stand

Default 2011 Live from the Stand

For the smartphone junkies, I thought this might be an interesting thread to have throughout the year for those who want to check-in from the stand. Weather/wind conditions, live shots from the stand, deer reports(2 doe just went by), etc.... A thread to have some fun with and to get that fix if you happen to be stuck at work, but someone else is hunting.

You should rename it the Torture thread!

    Good idea.

Getting blown around in my stand a little bit this evening, but its really not as bad as I thought it would be. Hopefully the deer will move.

Almost had my first archery yote. 13 yards full draw and my bow hanger gets in the way!

Just got to my stand. Northwest wind should be about perfect for this location. After checking cams yesterday I am confident there is a lot of daytime buck activity. Only time will tell. I took a chance siting here tonight because I had to walk in the valley that has good bedding on both sides. Didn't notice any deer bust out though.

Note to self. Walkers game ear works awesome for someone with terrible hearing, however in the rain and wind you are better off leaving it at home. On those quiet days I think I could hear a squirrel fart from 50 yard away.. No deer sightings yet.

Great morning to be out. Dead still and I was able to hear a squirrel fart haha! Only a few slickheads so far, tho.

Two 1 and 1/2 year old bucks have found our saddle and are harassing every doe that comes thru. Hoping all this noise will draw some attention from a boss! Still an entertaining and some good footage!

S sat till eleven this morning, but didn't see any. Beautiful morning until the sun decided to show its warm face. I hung a stand yesterday that I'm siting in today.arrived a about an hour ago. Stand overlooks a standing corn field with good bedding above me. Four scrapes and three rubs within thirty yards of my stand.

Just had a 140 8 grunting. One soft grunt brought him in to 40. Running the camera and the hunter I'm with was drawn so I was waiting for the THWACK. Nothing. My hunter only had a small window and didn't want to try and stop him while he was so alert. Wish I'd had my bow because it was wide open! Still time, fingers crossed.

Here's some pictures of the 8 from earlier--had to pull it up on the big screen to get a decent picture with the crackberry!

Hunting a new set in the AM. I'm relinquishing cameraman duties and will have the bow in hand with someone behind me. Can't wait!

    Great looking 8!

Well, I ended up with seeing tiny bucks and another buck came out as I was quietly getting my things together. Couldn't really tell what it was other than it was a buck.
