Shot a doe on Saturday evening. Other than that have only seen two does and a fawn on two other sits. Hopefully work schedule will change a bit so I can get out more.

Shot this 9 point on the 12th. I decided to go out during a break in the rain...........just as i anticipated he came out early to check a fresh scrape 25 yards from my stand. He busted me on the draw and trotted out to 32 yards where i stopped him and dropped him. I ended up spining him and he crawled right at me and I finished him off 15 yards from my stand. He is my biggest bow kill to date at 147 7/8.

my season just officially got worse! Last night I went out and the deer were moving awesome. About 6:00 a nice 8 pointer came out and was standing on the dge of a cornfield at about 45 yards I drew and released, just as I released the arrow he turned to go into the field I ended up hitting him in the hind leg as he was turning. I was hoping I might get lucky and hit him in the femoral artery and he would bleed out. Waited till dark to get out of my stand and went to where he was standing. No blood followed his path into the woods and 10 yards into the woods found my arrow covered in blood up about 12 inches. Still no blood trail followed what looked like his direction of travel 50 yards from edge of woods huge puddle of blood followed but an awesome blood trail for 25 yards or so then it started to go away slowely so we backed out. Went home and checked the weather and it was supposed to rain so we went back out and looked some more. It was becoming a tiny drop here and a tiny drop there trail to follow till we finally lost the trail all together at about 10:00 and then it started to rain. did a few sweeps through the woods and found nothing so I'm hoping he is alive and doing just fine. This makes me sick to my stomach. It is the third deer in all my years of hunting that I have wounded and not found.
Is it November 2012 yet?? 2011 sucked arse for me!!

So anyone see anything this weekend? I tryed to go out hunting on saturday after spraining my ankle and only made it a hour before i called it quits and went to the ER. But it was hard leaving the woods on a perfect hunting night with perfect wind and perfect temp.

With this week of colder (albeit windy) weather, I'm starting to get some more buck movement on the trail cam.

In five sits I have seen 63 deer but just this weekend started to see bucks. With the chill in the air comes a wilder woods. A lot of sign started to show and some nice bucks starting to show themselves on cameras over scrapes. It has been a good year so far...only time will tell out it ends.

everything for me has slowed down
hve not seen very many deer latlely
friday night had an illegal buck just stand at 15 yards for over 40 minutes with nothing else showing up
watched him walk off then jog away waited 10 minutes to get down and get out of there
he or another deer came back into the corner of my food plot as i was climbing down and got busted when i took the first steps away
hopefully it was not he big boy that has been showing up at 12 or later hopefully it was the same little one coming back for some reason

Two fat does to date, one Sept. 17th and one on Oct. 8th. Got a start on filling the freezer, time to look for some horns. Hunting all day tmrw and Fri down in the bluffs of Houston County!

Saw 7 different bucks on Sat morning in 1.5 hrs, also saw a doe chasing a turkey... that was a first for me.

I had a good buck come in last night. It was losing light fast. If I had been on the edge of a picked bean filed I may have been able to figure out which one he was or if he was a shooter. I elected to pass the 25 yard shot. It was the right thing to do. I don't think he was either of my 3 good ones. He was a big deer though.

Huge increase in buck movement over the past week for us. Have cameras in Ozaukee and Monroe Counties in WI and Winona County in Minny and it was like a light switch last weekend. Been getting mature bucks on scrapes almost every night (no daylight visits yet) but they are starting to get the itch! All local traffic yet except for one wild card buck in MN. Will be out in the woods tonight through Sunday!

I too have been seeing a huge increase in buck movement. On our family land this have been going slooooooow all season so far, but last Monday it was like someone flipped a switch and got the deer on their feet. I seen a total of 19 deer on wednesday and just about every one of them were smaller bucks. I did see about a 140-145" buck but oddly enough that was at 1pm while I was walking to my stand. I seen him the week before but right at the end of the light. I did manage to drop a cull buck the other night though. It basically looked like a large doe that as it turned out had a set of b***s and the tinyest of spikes that I didn't see.

LOTS of meat thats for sure, and the tenderloins sure were good tonight on the grill!

The switch has been turned on here as well! Saw 27 in a little over an hour, a lot of doe few small bucks but one nice guy 150" 6x. kinda crazy night in the stand. I also had something happen I've never seen before, that nice buck was running a doe across the bean field I was on and ended up next to my truck! Watched him in my binocs as He sat and looked at my drivers side window and was stompin and blowin at it. kinda sucked but stayed in the field after that. Must have seen his reflection and was struttin his stuff ehh???? haha

Monday night was out on public land
Had a guy walk out through a corn field that i was sitting over right at 610
Had deer coming in from my left and he walked in the cornfield less than 10 yards from me right towards the deer heading up towards me
why would you hunt if you get up and walk out right at peek time

I was lucky enough to get a shot at this 11 pointer on my second time in the tree, I have to thank Slimmer for inviting me out and hunt. Thanks again Slimmer.
The buck has an 18 1/8 inside spread and grosses 147 5/8. It was a great night Slimmer also took a nice 8 point 10 min. prior of this. The buck had wire wraped all up in his antlers im assuming he was rubbing on a fence post. There will be more pics when we get the rest of the pics. Its been awhile since I posted any pics so not sure its going to work!!

Yeah same here this season was short but good. I let an arrow fly on the last three times I had a bow in my hand and killed on the last two of those. Been in a tree a lot recently but not with a bow, just a video camera. I'm kind of dissapointed in my dad, he has only been hunting once this season. He has been working a lot but I would like for him to get a doe and it would be probably the best season ever for me and him.

Good luck the rest of the season everyone!!
