    Default Rest Opinions

I am currently shooting my bow with a Whiskers Biscuit, but have a Rip Cord Code Red sitting at home. I'm contemplating putting that on, but I've never used a drop away rest before. What is everyone's opinion on the 2 rests and which do you think I should use?

I know wb's work because so many use them, but I personally can't get passed the idea of having all of that fletch contact and still have good arrow flight...especially with broadheads.

Ripcord....QAD, with either I don't think you will be disappointed. Years back I would've said QAD, but the Ripcord today is equally as effective. Full containment in a drop away. For hunting scenarios, I don't see myself ever going away from this style of rest.

HAd my QAD plunger fail this fall out west. Never had that happen with WB. If I wasnt going to shoot past 30 yards it would be hands down WB, but since I do shoot further I'd go with the QAD. I never had an issue in 4 years till this fall with QAD, but now I will wonder.

I have never personally used either of these rests, but my brother swears by the whisker biskit. I've been shooting with trophy taker rests for almost ten years and have never had a problem.

Something internal that went bad or what caused it.

no idea...it is working now. I would have to click it back 8 to 10 times before it would engage. It has me wondering though. It will shoot this way but you need to keep bow vertical.

The more parts there are to a rest, the that can go wrong with it. Keep your setup as simple as possible.

WB is a rock solid rest, and really...if you loose 2-3 fps by using, the deer wont notice.

I'm with Stump on this. There is something about the fletching traveling through the WB and making all that contact that I don't like. At 20 yds I don't see it making a big difference. At longer distances I think that it may hinder you groups.

I can also see where Newhntr is coming from. I'm usually a fan of the K.I.S.S. theory but have heard great things about both rests.

Personally I believe that for hunting scenarios, late season hunting full containment rests are worth their weight in gold. You never have to worry about the arrow falling off. If full contain wasn't a worry, I'd be shooting either a limb driver or trophy ridge.

I shoot the Whisker Biscuit and would be hard pressed to switch. It is easy to set up, it is compact, and tough.
I don't think that it will affect your shot group, even at long distances.
Check out the following video where the PigMan shoots a 3 inch group at 100 yards using a Whisker Biscuit.
If this doesn't sell you on the fact that this is a long range rest, nothing will.
