    Default Man vs. Whitetail video

Just out of curiousity have you watched that video on the home page?
What did you think of the shot that he took?

I, personally, never would have taken that shot. Quartering to you. And a neck shot.

Just want to know what you all think.
I do not want to offend the guys who make the video, or start an argument over shot placement.
Just want to know peoples opinions.

The angle was fine it appeared. However, the shot was off badly. Pretty certain he wasn't aiming where he hit.

That's how I viewed it as well. Slightly quartering, but still high percentage I believe. Especially with how calm the buck seemed.

I Agree. I just wish when this happens, the hunter would say "dang, i pulled the shot" instead of "i smoked him!"

This animal was barely quartering to me when I took him at about 28 yards. The arrow entered tight just in front of his left leg and broke his far leg proving he was nearly broadside. George's camera stand was in front of me and well to my left making it look more quartering to. My shot was under extreme pressure as it was our first sit of the season and it was only 3-4 inches left of where I was aiming. Once again you are watching the video which gives you a better look and from what I saw after the shot I smoked him.... which I did.

i wish the same thing, as far as being honest about your shot. i havent watched the video, but so many times you see that on the videos where the hunter proclaims absoltely drilling a deer only to have recovery footage of the deer stiff as a rock because they had to leave it lay due to a poor shot. like my buddy says "there is a difference between cold blooded killers, and internet heros"
