    Default mock scrape...

I tried my hand at making a few mock scrapes this fall and the bucks really responded. This was, by far, the coolest series of pics I got from them...

MnBowhuntr... yes, his body does look massive. There was a nice deer shot about 300 yds from that scrape on state land that borders ours so I could've been him. I can't tell what he scores from the pic but I know I biggun went down in that area the following weekend.

newHuntr... funny you should say that. About 95% of my mock scrape pics have been at night, but the two bucks that were on during daylight were very nice. One of them was a decent 8 point at about 9 am... on the same day I was hunting a different stand

Cool pics and a great buck. In summer, almost all my cameras are on mineral licks. Come late summer/early fall, you can't beat a good mock. They suck bucks in like candy. I never worry about nighttime pics...All I need to know is which bucks are in the area. Rest is up to me....Keep at it

Mock scrapes have consistently been THE best his way to photo "shooter" bucks. I capture dozens of P&Y class bucks each season that tear up our mock scrapes. It's always exciting to see the bucks get aggressive over the scrapes. This season I used video mode on some cams and it's even cooler! In fact, next season.... video mode is all I'm going to do ALL scrape season.
