    Default Used gun pricing...?

I am looking to sell some guns, but dont really know what they are worth...anyone know of a GOOD online price resource that is free?

Also, anyone ever sell a gun to Gander? how was your experience? considering selling to them, but dont know if they compare to other shops as far as price...I would like to 'sell' my guns, not give them away.

    Thanks for any input

    p.s if anyone is interested...I have a Remington 870 Express combo 12 ga.(2 barrels) a Charles Daly 12ga. semi-auto, and a stainless S&W 357mag revolver (K or J frame...?)

Get a copy of Gun Digest, which is published by Krause Publications in Iola, WI. They have used-gun prices and values for any gun ever made. I think you can check them out online. Good luck.

I recently sold 2 guns to cabelas. Overall I was happy with the experience. Didnt get as much as I wanted which is always the case. I had a barely used rem. 11-87 and I got $350 for that. Also had a bolt action mossberg 12 gauge, got $150 for that. I was glad to get the money and put it towards a new gun. I'm sure if you sold them to private parties you could get more. I was going to try but I was a little worried about the paperwork part of it. Not sure what kind of documentation you need to sell a gun if you are not a dealer.

Update....I brought 2 of the guns to Gander, they proceeded to lowball me out the door, so I went across the road and found THE BEST gun shop ever! J&S Custom guns in Lakeville. Great guys, really easy to work with...and they did work with me on price, and I feel they gave me a fair deal when buying the guns.

Once money is better, and I am in the market for another gun...I will be going to J&S Custom guns!

When selling guns to a private party, there is no paperwork involved or required. It's our right as Americans to buy and sell guns as we please. However, with that being said, whenever I have sold a firearm of my own, I always write up a "bill of sale" of sorts that documents the make, model, and serial number. Then I have both the purchaser and myself sign and date it. That way if the gun were to ever be used in a crime (highly unlikely and also very sad if it did) I have proof that I sold that firearm. The buyer also has a copy for his/her records. It's a simple way to cover your own butt, even though it's not required. There is no gun registration - buy and sell as you please!
