    Default Biker's shed thread - 2012

I was out hanging a few trail cameras on Monday and I stumbled across my first shed of the year. It is actually last years drop, but it's in perfect condition. I picked up the match last spring, but it was in the woods and the squirrels had already had their way with it. This one was on a fenceline that separated a pasture from the crop fields. It's a nice four point that scores 66 7/8" making it the second biggest four point shed that I have ever found. G2 is 13" long.

Here is an as it lay photo of the match from last spring. Even with the squirrel damage this shed scores just over 60" as a three point. The G1 was too short to be scored.

Here they are matched up again at last.

Just for $hits and giggles I snapped a photo of my three biggest four point sheds. I've picked up a lot of four point sheds over the years and some pretty nice ones, so this is a pretty big deal to me.

    Congrats!

I love big 8's, and those are some awesome sheds. That 73" side is just a whopper!

Looks like you're off to a great start

Congrats on the shed. It's a awesome addition to your collection.
Last weekend while doing a little post season scouting (trying to figure out a trail a buck appeared from in Nov) I found what was left of this dead head. Shed hunting season is not far away....

Went out for a walk with my brother yesterday. Had no real hopes of finding any sheds as it's a little early in my neck of the woods. We brought our .22's along, however, and dumped a few squirrels. We each got three of the shed eating little rats. Was hoping to make it out again today, but the weather is crappy.

I rescued this shed from a picked bean field in January. It's in pretty rough shape... must've gotten run over by a tractor. It's too bad. I think it would've been a pretty nice shed if I had found it when it was fresh.

I found my first fresh antler of the year on the 27th of January. My cameras have showed all or most of the bucks still packing, so I've been cautious and haven't gone in the woods and just stayed in the field edge. I decided that day to take a short walk in the edge of the woods and was rewarded with this little five point.

A coworker of mine just gave me permission to shed hunt on his dads 600 acres. He's not a shed hunter, but he found this shed a few years back while doing field work. It's a beauty. I scored it at 75 3/8".

They're dropping! Picked up a couple of fresh ones on Thursday afternoon when I went out to check my cameras. First one was a little four point under an apple tree.

Second on was also a little four point. Found on a pond dam.

Was able to get out again on Friday with a coworker and came home with four. First one was a hanger! This is only the second hanger I have ever found. It's a nice heavy four point too. Prolly about 50-55"s.

I found my first hanger about three years ago. Here are a couple pics. It's also a four point.

The next two are a six point set. I tried to get both of them in photo, but one of them is hard to see. If you look hard in the top center of the photo between two tree's you ca see it.

Last one of the day is a decent five point under an apple tree. So far my biggest fresh one of the year.
