YES! had a 42 yard (barebow) shot last Sat., unfortunately I killed a small branch instead of a fat doe...so she got away. But I will be hittin it again, probably on Monday?

Took next week off of work and headed to NODAK to try and fill my tag!

My cousin was out this week, too, and put an arrow in a pretty good eight, but low. Check out the video--the first portion of the video shows a buck they filmed the Wednesday night. He never made it closer than 200 yards, though.

    http://vimeo.com/34106769

Was hoping he at least tipped the heart. They tracked it onto private land this morning with permission but were requested to leave their bows in the truck. We all know what happens then. Same buck came up on them at 25 yards and all they could shoot it with was a camera (check out those brow tines!). This was at about 12:30pm. You'd have to think he's hurt but I can't tell whether he penetrated the chest cavity or not.

Anyone else hit deer in this location? What was the outcome?

Regardless, we'll be back out Sunday to look!

Will likely hunt M-Sat next week... HHAAHAA!!! Til the bitter end...

    Default 1 Last weekend.

Going to give it a shot 1 more time for the end of season this weekend. Wish there was 6 inches of snow on the ground.

Best of luck to anyone making it out for the end of the season hunting this weekend!

Still making bowhunts here in Illinois. My Buck tags are filled and I don't want kill any Does on my own property but I'm still taking my 12 year old searching for his 1st bow buck. Things are pretty slow especially after last weekends Firearm Antlerless-Only hunt.... the 50 degree temps put everybody and his brother out trying to fill their extra tags and all the hunting pressure really laid 'em up! We still have this next weekend of bow only and then the weekend after that is another Antlerless-Only Firearm hunt. The end is in sight.

I second that. The last 5 years of cold and snowy Decembers have left me spoiled. I forgot how brutal the hunting can be in the late season without those two key ingredients.

Thumbs up Rocked the MLSL Scarf!

(MOTR Late Season Line) and was damn happy to do it!!! The deer gods sacrified an unfortunate button buck so that "Jerky Santa" could once again grace the sky in his meat-sleigh all the way to AZ! After launching my first arrow into the rhubarb during an "abbreviated draw" , I was forced to push the limits of my instinctive shooting abilities and put an arrow into orbit enroute to brownsville and the part of my arrow that did not burn up upon re-entry put the jerky donor down after a brief 50 yd frolic through the snow. Had him to the truck in mere minutes, and at the shed with ChickenMuscle and SwimSMU with beer in hand before dark!
